From the supplier: The tendency of organizations to find a quick fix for computer illiteracy promotes dysfunctional computer learning and use. Given the increasing importance of the computer technology to the way people work and live, organizations must stop expecting miraculous acquisition of technical knowledge and be open to the evolutionary nature of computer learning. Computer education in any company should be geared towards producing utilitarian computer users so that the technology can be used to benefit the entire organization. To develop computer utility programs, managers are advised to align computer learning objectives with organizational objectives, appoint experienced users as instructors, provide adequate hardware and software so that users can perform their jobs, and make use of vendor training programs.
