From the supplier: New York's Ossining Union School District is using Claris Corp's ClarisWorks 2.0 integrated software as a teaching tool in elementary schools. The software package integrates spreadsheets, charts, word processing, graphics, painting and presentation components into one application. Teachers and students have found it very easy to use and easy to teach to others. Case studies include using the software's spreadsheet, tabling and charting functions to teach students how to calculate and study data on atmospheric changes. The software was also used to teach students how to create and use purchase orders, and manipulate text and graphics in a word processing document. Students have also combined ClarisWorks with other programs and equipment to create multimedia presentations. Ossining runs the software on an Apple Macintosh SE/30 server which is connected to 25 assorted Macintosh microcomputers located in one lab.
