From the supplier: MathWork Inc's MatLab mathematical/statistical software package helps engineering students visualize relationships when solving problems using real-world techniques. MatLab has an interactive interface that allows students to ask related questions at any point in the program based on a 'what if?' paradigm. The software directs students using true vector and maintenance operations and also lets them use other operations such as matrix inversion, matrix multiplication and dot products when problem solving. The program creates an environment where successful prediction of a correct answer teaches students how to see relationships between data. MatLab handles numeric computation, data analysis and graphics using on-the-job engineering techniques. Feedback indicates the program is useful to students at all academic levels, from freshman to graduate.
