Book Description
Once, all life in the universe knew the Flower of Life as the creation pattern - the geometrical design leading us into and out of physical existence. Then from a very high state of consciousness we fell in darkness and forgot who we were. For thousands of years the secret was held in ancient artifacts and carvings around the world, and encoded in the cells of all life.

Here Drunvalo Melchizedek presents in text and graphics the first half of the Flower of Life Workshop, illuninating the mysteries of how we came to be, why the world is the way it is and the subtle energies that allow our awareness to blossom into its true beauty.

Sacred Geometry is the form beneath our being and points to a divine order in our reality. We can follow that order form the invisible atom to the infinite stars, finding ourselves at each step. The information here is one path, but between the lines and drawings lie the feminine gems of intuitive understanding.

Explore the miracle of our existence by meandering through the wonderland of geometry, science, ancient history and new discovery, seen through the widened vision of Drunvalo and the Flower of Life. Volume 2 will explore in great detail the Mer-Ka-Ba, the 55-foot-diameter energy field of the human lightbody. This knowledge leads to ascension and the next dimensional world.

5 out of 5 stars Flower of Life Review - by Mari from Connecticut   December 14, 1999

After reading The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life Book - Volume I, I was able to add more pieces to the great puzzle of life. Drunvalo takes difficult topics and explains them clearly. He gives his audience much to think about. I have seen him speak on two occasions and found him to be kind, clear and very informative. He is not arrogant as one reviewer said. He meets with people all over the world and tells you of the latest discoveries. He has studied physics and the arts which gives a balance you don't often see. The book shows many drawings of sacred geometry, the MerKaBa and pictures of the sacred sites and artifacts along with his explanations. Book II will be out soon and I am looking forward to purchasing it. If you're a serious seeker of the mysteries of life, read his books.

5 out of 5 stars Consciousness Raising   October 21, 2000

This book is not for those who think "in the box." It IS for those desiring to expand their mental horizons. In this book the author talks about the 5 levels of human consciousness, the MerKaBa(the energy field which surrounds all living things), and explains with geometric diagrams, a very interesting interpretation of the Biblical story of Genesis. And there is a lot more in this book to blow your mind. Of course, there is no way to "prove" any of this, however, it IS information that you can apply in your life to see if it works for you. I have had personal experiences with some of this material that makes it real for me. It is written in a conversational tone, because the book is an edited transcript from a series of lectures the author gave. The subject matter is very deep. Don't pick up this book if you are looking for a light read, but if you are a seeker of truth, you will surely enjoy this one.

5 out of 5 stars Another perspective on reality   January 20, 2004

As can be seen by the mitigated reviews of volumes I and II, reviews merely reflect what the readers were expecting from reading the book. As for all spiritual messages, the way one feels towards some message only reflects what one has found in it compared to one expected from finding in it. Everything already lies within yourself, so reading is just like a mirror that reflects what lies within you, but through the help of someone else's experience. If you're open to another way of seeing the world, you'll find something in these books. If you're not ready to try to understand the writer's viewpoint, then it is better not to open these books, and this is true for anything you read, be it spiritual, religious, philosophy, scientific,...

Living is an internal experience, the outside world is what you want it to be. If you take it as a friend and teacher, you'll learn from it, if seen as an enemy, then you'll have to fight. It is up to you to decide which way you want to go. Are you ready to accept the viewpoint of others or do you think you already hold the truth ?

To make things clear, these books (vols. I and II) provide a nice perspective on the nature of reality, by insisting on the geometrical nature of the world and the relationships between several planes of reality. There are other perspectives, any one being as right as another according to its proper assumptions. If you thing this view might help you, then read it.

5 out of 5 stars This book changed my life forever!   May 19, 2004

While driving someone I'd just met home, I was discussing what was going on in my life at the time. She said it sounded like I needed to read "The Ancient Secrets of the Flower of Life." (The ancient what? What about flowers? ?????) When we arrived at this woman's home, she invited me in to take a look at the book, because for the life of me, I knew I would never remember the name of it. All I know is that when I picked it up, I had a very strong, even overwhelming sensation of what I can only describe as familiarity. In the context of this review I can't explain the feeling I was having any better than that, but based on that feeling, I knew I really had to go out and find it right away.

If you haven't taken a math class in years, as was my case, the sacred geometry part was occasionally challenging, but I certainly saw no harm in stimulating the ol'left brain again, either! But it was fascinating, too, to learn about the logarythmic perfection of our world, seemingly ordinary flowers, but I was fascinated especially by the perfection of the proportions of the human body! (And he definitely credits DaVinci's genius.)

Yes, much of what he talks about, especially our beginnings as human beings, can be seen as "out there!" because it goes against the grain of everything we have learned about ourselves through modern science. I'll admit my eyes were open just about as wide as they can go when I was reading this stuff. But I kept going, because by now, in my forties, I have finally learned to trust my own instincts, and I kept going because of how this book literally resonated in my hand the first time I looked at it. How often has it been the case where you learn something in school which is later disproven, yet at the time you were expected to engrave it in stone? If you think about it, there's a great deal of information we have learned which we were expected to just accept at face value, so who's to say this information is wrong just because it seems so strange to our minds? All I'm saying is that there's a great deal of benefit to open-mindedness, in all areas of existence.

I went to one of Drunvalo's seminars about a month after this experience, and I found him to be one of the most genuine, uplifting people I have ever met. AT NO TIME did he try to compromise anyone's free will, or try to violate the integrity of anyone's belief system(s). As a matter of fact, HE STRESSED HOW IMPORTANT IT WAS THAT WE FIND OUR OWN TRUTH. He's not a guru, he's a teacher, and while much of his teaching was completely new to me and required a great deal of processing and "digestion" if you will, it ultimately felt right.

After reading all the reviews, I can summarize the value of this book as indicated in the title. If the book has value enjoy it relish its insights, if you think it is hogwash return it or throw it out. The reviews here could be made about any esoteric or "religious" book. This author like many others believes he is speaking a truth, feel your way through it, if it feels true enjoy, if it feels false, stop reading it. Either way its like discussing who killed JFK, you can choose to believe the lone gunman theory or the conspiracy assassination theory.

Like many writers, they write like they speak, some speakers are very expressive others are very detailed. Drunvalo is a great story teller, but it does not always translate well to print.

So the question is "Is this New Age Hogwash or Great Universal Truths," my advice is read and decide for yourself.
