| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Upgrading and Repairing PCs, A+ Certification Study Guide is a hands-on learning book. Scott takes the readers through the test objectives one by one. The most frequently missed questions are pointed out and explained with greater detail than easier questions need. Plain English! Spend your time learning--not deciphering bad writing! Just the essentials--Scott covers the essentials that you'll need to pass the test and point you where to go for more information. Frequent study reminders throughout help you focus and remember the core concepts for the exam - and not the not-so-necessary details. Also included are exams that will cover the topics that you'll be tested on AND we'll ask them in the manner they'll be asked on the test.

Incredible book for passing the A+ exam November 22, 2001 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I bought this book as a study guide for the A+ exam. This year, when i took the exams, i took the hardware in the linear format and scored a 895 (out of 900) and took the os exam in the adaptive format and scored a 1290 (out of 1300). If you want to ace the A+, GET THIS BOOK.

Number 1 A+ Prep and Reference Book October 23, 2001 traversh@gofree.indigo.ie (Ireland) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I passed both exams in October this year and owe it solely to this book. The exams had just turned adaptive from the fixed length. I took one of each. The great thing about this book is it's no nonesense truthfullness about what you need to know. It spells out in lay mans terms what chapters you need to know for each exam and what exactly is involved. I would reccommend this book to anyone as a reference work or for those taking the exam itself.
WOW !!! September 16, 2000 Scott Creel (TN) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I read Michael Myers A+ book and though it was good, I knew I needed an additional study guide. I used the A+ Exam Cram Flash Cards, but THIS book was the absolute best study aide for passing both parts of the A+. Do not be misled, this book DOES have actual test questions on it. This is an invaluable investment if you are looking for a study aide to whatever book you have read for the A+. It is to the point, has great summaries, review questions, and what else can I say but.....WOW !!
The book you need for pass A+ Exam March 11, 2002 Jose A. Campo (Houston, TX) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is an amazing book. Plain english and nice graphics that helps understand basic concepts. Clear and straight! Just useful information. Chapter's book are very well organized. It's author have divide book in two parts: Hardware and Os concepts; excellent if you're planning to take (and study) each exam separate. The book is plenty of excellents tables and CPUs specifications.Be aware! this is not a reference book; there is not enought in depth info. But its author has "Upgrade and Repair Guide" where people can learn a lot more. Next editions could be hardcover, not paperback, for better presentation and book protection.
