Update to my previous review November 11, 2002 Mark L. Pearson (Sublimity, OR United States) 58 out of 63 found this review helpful
I still consider this book excellent. NaturallySpeaking no matter which version can be challenging. I believe there will be confusion though if this book is used for other then version 4. There are many changes since then. With all speech recognition failure will happen unless you do the following: 1. Computer specifications about double of what is recommended. 2. Computers have been prepared using original CD's to load the operating system. 3. Vocabularies are pre-populated with words and phrases from previous documents. 4. The starting pace of the person's voice is determined. If the above is done, the user can enjoy close to 100% accuracy.
Excellent - a must for all owners of Dragon NaturallySpeakin November 5, 1999 Mark L. Pearson (mark@computervoiceprojects.com) (Oregon) 49 out of 57 found this review helpful
I have trained Dragon products for six years. I have waited for a comprehensive book for my clients after the inital training is completed. This book is excellent and will do just that.It is also for the person who would like to train themselves. It gives an objective view of speech recognition, and does not lower the persons expectations, rather puts them in perspective. Excellent for everyone.
Dragon Speech Recognition software June 16, 2008 Edward Sioma 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This software is highly recommended by one of the leading Rehab Centers. My daughter, who is paralyzed from the neck down, has used it,with the proper equipment, to send E-Mail messages and to make telephone calls.
Useful book March 29, 2000 Kevin Price (US) 12 out of 19 found this review helpful
I found some information that I was unable to find in other books on Dragon NaturallySpeaking. It covers a wide range of topics. It has an easy to read style along with a lot of good tips.
Its cool but you need to work with it. August 30, 2005 Michael K. Brady (Los Angeles) 8 out of 14 found this review helpful
It is a great program but you have to be willing to spend some time with it. At first I found it somewhat frustrating. But after I wile I got the editing commands down. I still use a keyboard but sometimes I feel like dictating and it fits the bill. So overall I would say be aware that you need to put in a little work to make it work.
