Product Description This major revision prepares students to succeed on the New York State Math A Regents Exam as it is now given. The book places increased emphasis on use of the graphing calculator, and in line with New York State Regents core curriculum, it shows how given problems can be solved in several different ways. The author also includes new Regents question types dealing, for instance, with motion problems and mathematical systems defined by tables. New contextualized word problems further enhance the presentation. The totally rewritten chapter on problem-solving offers students a core set of strategies that apply to a variety of curriculum-related exercises. In addition to subject review, demonstration examples, and practice exercises with answers, the book includes several complete recent Math A Regents exams with answers.

Good for the practice questions June 15, 2003 Becky Kolacki (New York) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have this book and found it pretty helpful with studying for Math A. The book has a ton of practice questions which were very similar in style to the regents questions. My teacher had this book and many times the same questions would come up on tests that I had already done while studying. The explainations of things were pretty wordy and kind of confusing, so I wouldn't buy this book if you want things better explained to you. But I would say it's definitely worth buying this book for all the practice questions. I passed the Math A regents in January 2003 with a 90, thanks to a lot of the practice in this book.
Great helpful guide February 8, 2008 K. Gregg (New York) Teachers recommend this for NY state Regents prep in Math A. Is updated to cover curriculum changes. Very helpful study aid.
Forewarning April 13, 2005 TJ (New York) 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
I just purchased both the "Let's Review: Math A" and "Let's Review: Math B" books and found two errors within the answer section for the first "Check Your Understanding" problems within the Math A book. I have contacted Barron's hoping they can/will provide insight to the discrepancies. I am very concerned about moving forward with either book as I now do not trust the integrity of the material.
