5 out of 5 stars Necessary and Essential Foundation   September 2, 2008
Jonathan M. Bentley (PHX, AZ USA)
This book uses reason, which is inherent in all of us, to critically examine basic beliefs. The author's systematic approach to uncover the most basic in light of the less basic is truly astonishing. One cannot, and will not, find a discrepancy in the arguments laid out in this work. The arguments are tested by reason, and reason cannot be questioned because reason makes questioning possible.

For the Christian, this work is necessary and essential because it will open your eyes to God's nature, man's nature, and the purpose of human existence in light of God as Creator. Again, this is a must read!

5 out of 5 stars Clarity Over and Against Meaninglessness!   February 22, 2008

"Philosophical Foundation argues for clarity over and against meaninglessness, which is implicit in various forms of skepticism and fideism. Throughout the book, critical analysis is applied to unexamined assumptions in the areas of metaphysics and ethics in order to address long-standing disputes. The basic beliefs of western naturalism, eastern idealism, Greek dualism, post modern anti-realism, and classical theism are incisively analyzed by reason for their coherence of meaning. Those who have questions about knowledge and certainty, faith and reason, the existence of God and the problem of evil, will find critical insight throughout this study in its use of presuppositional thinking"

I couldn't say it in better words so I quoted the back cover of the book! Once again, Great book!

4 out of 5 stars Good book for focused study   April 14, 2008
Chris T. Cottrell (Phoenix, AZ)
This book is a well written outline of basic philosophies that can be understood through reason and good use of the mind.

Professor Gangadean's teaching method in class gives for a more direct puncture of common belief systems. Unless this book is read and thoughtfully applied it does not fare as well as a lecture.
