BEST SAT/ACT PRACTICE GUIDE EVER August 14, 2008 Diane E. Tryhane (Stamford, CT) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My son used an earlier version of this book and scored a 750 on the SAT. He also used it to prepare for the SAT Subject Test and scored 710. He used the book to refresh math learned in middle school and early high school and to fill in a few gaps in his math background. I highly recommend using this book.
Excellent guide August 26, 2008 C. B. O'Connell 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My daughter used this study guide to prepare for the SATs and found it very helpful, especially in the review of math from her freshman and sophmore years. The book increased her overall confidence with the math portion of the exam and was a factor in her 720 math score on the SAT.
The best math workbook to start your test prep September 30, 2008 Patricia D. Brown (Rancho Santa Fe, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am an experienced full-time tutor for the SAT and the ACT and I highly recommend this math workbook (over what else is available) for several reasons. First of all, most students now are taking both the SAT and the ACT and frequently the Math IIC Subject Test. The idea of expecting a student to go through three different workbooks is unrealistic. This workbook offers a student a reasonable amount of work to add to his or her already busy life and does a GREAT job of preparing them for all three tests. I use this workbook for ALL of my students because it can challenge the student striving for an "ivy league" test score as well as not overwhelm the student who may be starting out with a 550 SAT math score or a 24 ACT math score. Using this workbook will also quickly illuminate the holes in a student's math skills. I previously used the Barron's SAT Math workbook and found that it overwhelmed the students who weren't very skilled in math and also, for all students, took too long to complete. This workbook can be completed in a matter of weeks. As the author advises, you would use this workbook in combination with the practice tests in the Real ACT Prep Guide.
