Amazon.com Imagine how aliens might test your intelligence. Certainly not with the same tests you took in school. They might give you something like this book--if they were extremely cool aliens. Clifford Pickover uses the storyline of an alien intelligence test to deliver one of the most refreshing puzzle books in years. You'll be tested on logic and general knowledge in most unexpected ways. Alongside the games are thought-provoking quotes pertaining to alien contact, the nature of reality, and our own knowledge of the universe. The result is a game book that's a little eerie, very witty, and utterly addictive.

A fun book, especially for puzzle fanatics June 21, 1998 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
These puzzles are quite challenging, but there is a lot of fun ideas presented. Many puzzles have interesting, quirky asides to entertain and extend the puzzle. These mind-bending puzzles are not traditional, run-of-the-mill types that can be found anywhere. They are original, difficult puzzles that are not easily solved. This book is deceiving: it looks thin, but will keep you occupied for hours.
Unbelievably Compelling. Strange. Fun. May 20, 1998 My friend is a school teacher and uses this book to get her students to think. It's a good puzzle book for all ages. Youngsters can attack some of the easier problems. Adults can try to tackle some of the harder problems. The fantastic alien artwork makes the book of special interest. Anyone who buys this mind-shattering book is sure to change the way they think about the people with whom we share this planet. Wild! My favorite puzzle is called "Survival on Arcturus." Try it.
Fascinating! April 14, 1998 The Alien IQ Test was fascinating reading. I especially liked some of the puzzles toward the end dealing with art and human emotion!
"Ingenious twist by the master..." - T. Pappas May 12, 1997 "If earthly problems and puzzles have become too mundane for you -- match wits with those in Pickover's new and literally far out The Alien IQ Test. Another ingenious twist by a master of puzzles and brainteasers." - Theoni Pappas, author of The Joy of Mathematics
