FIRST OF ALL WHO SAYS ADDING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT IS EASIER! YOU STILL HAVE TO KNOW YOUR ADDITION FACTS TO GET THE ANSWER. THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE ADDITION EASIER IS TO MEMORIZE YOUR ADDITION FACTS. THE SAD THING IS THAT 99% OF THE MATH BOOKS OUT THERE DON'T SHOW YOU HOW TO MEMORIZE THEM. (JUST TO SAY, FLASHCARDS DON'T WORK EITHER! THEY PROMOTE REPITITION AND MOST OF US KNOW THAT WHAT'S LEARNED BY REPITITION FADES AWAY.) BACK TO THIS BOOK,MOST OF THE TECHNIQUES ARE IMPRACTICAL,YOU'LL KEEP THINKING "IF I COULD DO THIS I WOULDN'T BE READING THIS BOOK!" HEY EDWARD JULIUS, MENTAL MATH SHOULD BE EASIER THAN STANDARD MATH! MOST OF HIS SOLUTIONS ARE ESTIMATED,SO HE SHOWS YOU A COMPLICATED WAY OF GUESSING UNTIL YOU GET THE ANSWER. ALSO LOOK UP VEDIC MATH ON THE INTERNET (OF WHICH I THINK TRACHTENBERG GOT HIS TECHNIQUES FROM I'M NOT SURE.
