Pretty good in general but check out Stoica as well. June 29, 1998 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Kay explains the somewhat difficult concepts of spectral estimation in a simple straight forward manner. I especially liked his explanation of the Levinson algorithm. Not too much emphasis on matrix notation and seeing things from a linear algebra standpoint. Stoica is pretty good at this.
Comprehensive and in-depth, but check out Marple too April 10, 1997 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Very good coverage of current topics. It provides a good theoretical basis, with coded examples (points deducted because he uses FORTRAN *ick*) For coursework, Kay provides more depth. For people who just want to get an algorithm working, Marple has "the high points" at the beginning of each chapter.
