Nice intro to Window 98 programming March 19, 2000 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Introduction to Windows 98 programming is a good book for beginners. The good thing about it is that it concentrates on the true basics of Windows; that is the Win32. The authors progressively bring the reader throught the concept of Windows Programming and handling the basic resources. The only mention of MFC is in the last Chapter - this is good because MFC can be tough on the beginner. This book is good for the beginner.
step-by-step guide for windows programming March 12, 2000 Zhaoguo (William) Xie (Vancouver, BC, Canada) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This introduction from ground up is quite good for starters of windows programming. You got to have experience with C++ and some MFC background. However, it seems the online source code, which was supposed to be free, could never be available from the ftp site, and no alternatives exist.
