Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Fellmann's Human Geography introduces students to the scope and excitement of human geography and its relevance to their daily lives. Designed for the one-semester or one-quarter course, this edition continues to convey the breadth of human geography and to provide insight into the nature and intellectual challenges of the field of geography itself. The authors pay special attention to gender issues and assume no previous experience in geography on the part of the students.

Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars Dense reading   March 4, 2008
K. Joyner (Southern PA., USA)
This book could have been written and organized a lot better. It is unnecessarily convoluted and makes for a tortuous read. It may well be a contributor to the high suicide rate among college students. I'm kidding, but you get my point.

1 out of 5 stars Poor text for a 100 level course   December 19, 2007
Sherry L. Christman (PA)
I agree with the previous reviewer. I was panic stricken when I received this textbook as I was fully prepared to fail this class. However, the professor I had did an excellent job of taking a poorly written, overly complex text and turning the material into easy to understand concepts. The only redeeming factor in this text is the abundance of graphs, maps, etc. Those we used very extensively in class and they did help to clarify the material. Of course, if your professor chooses this text for your class, you need to purchase it. Overall I'm glad I did purchase the text because the graphs, maps, etc were helpful and also required for reference in several exercises we did in this class. I'm also glad to be able to sell it back.

1 out of 5 stars Very difficult reading   October 1, 2006

These authors could have done a much better job simplifying this text. The language used is very complex for a 100 course. If you have the choice do another geo class, about half my present class is about to drop this course all because of the difficult reading.
