Product Description Elementary Statistics: A Brief Version, 3rd edition is a shorter version of the popular text Elementary Statistics: A Step by Step Approach, 5th edition. This softcover edition includes all the features of the longer book, but is designed for a course in which the time available limits the number of topics covered. The book is written for general beginning statistics courses with a basic algebra prerequisite. The book use a non-theoretical approach, explaining concepts intuitively and teaching problem solving through worked examples step-by-step.

Great Textbook July 29, 2005 krinchickie 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I used this book for an online course and found it very easy to use. I had never taken a statistics class before and ended up with an A in the course and had little to no help from my professor. This book does an excellent job explaining concepts with clear examples and instructions on how to perform problems using Minitab, Excel, and a TI-83 calculator. I usually sell my textbooks back, but I just might hang on to this one.
Truely a user friendly textbook February 18, 2006 Art J. Laycock (Heart of Idaho) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The book is very clearly written with good explanations and application to real world situations. I especially find the instructions about how to use the TI-83 and MS Excel very helpful. I will not be reselling this book; I intend to keep it as a reference book for some time to come.
Excellent Stat book for a beginner or a reviewer February 15, 2005 Roofchops (Brooklyn) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I used this book last semester. I then sold it. Now, I want it back. I am taking a follow-up stat course, but this book is my bible. It really is a great addition to any stat study. Will be buying a new one.
Elementary Statistics: A Brief Version April 9, 2007 LS (Bellevue, NE USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The book came in perfect conditions and good time. Although it was not much of an advantage to purchase it from Amazon versus the campus bookstore. It did not included the feature "Math Zone" that new books are supossed to have and the price after the purchase of Math Zone separately ended up higher than of the same new item purchased at the campus bookstore.
