Wait : it's a series and really good! January 30, 2006 S. Jones 4 out of 21 found this review helpful
The demystified books in math are a series and build one upon another. I find the whole series completely simple and easy to follow. I used them to tutor a friend's child with great success. These books save $$ in learning on your own so that anyone could jump right into calculus.

I purchased this book used (Very Cheap)! Item came in excellent condition, and in an acceptable time frame. Would purchase from seller again.
Did what I had hoped it would do October 21, 2002 11 out of 15 found this review helpful
Books like this should stop trying to tell us that they "make learning more enjoyable" (a phrase I just lifted from the back of the paperback edition.) Learning calculus isn't enjoyable, except perhaps for people who picked it up quickly in school and will never need this book anyway. The target audience for this book is the mid-life fellow like myself, who blew off anything more advanced that basic geometry in his school days/daze, never thinking he'd need more than that. Now, career prospects depend upon absorbing such material, and one just wants to get through it as painlessly as possible. The issue of "enjoyment" doesn't arise. Silly hype aside, the book DID help me get a grasp of the basic concepts involved, for which I am grateful.

not bad November 10, 2006 J. Gibson (Savannah, Ga USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book was helpful with understanding the concepts. However, there are "you try it" problems through out the book with no answers or solutions so you have no idea if you did it correctly. I would recommend using this book only as a secondary method of learning.
