Foundations of Geometry Learning Outcomes

LEARNING OUTCOMES: Upon completion of Foundations of Geometry:

1.    Students will be able to explain the axiomatic development of consistent mathematical systems and identify or describe consistent mathematical systems.

2.    Students will be able to write and communicate proofs of geometric statements using direct or indirect arguments.

3.    Students will be able to illustrate geometric objects and demonstrate geometric relationships using technology.

4.    Students will be able to discuss the historical development of new geometries.

5.    Students will be able to explain differences between Euclidean and Non-Euclidean geometry.

6.    Students will be able to apply geometric models to solve problems individually and in groups.
